St. Louis County Historical Society in Duluth As the state-designated history services provider for St. Louis County, the St. Louis County Historical Society has protected the history of northeastern Minnesota for more than 85 years. Since 1922. It hasmade available collections that reflect the people and cultures of the area, thereby sharing its past.
Virginia Area Historical Society Located in beautiful Olcott Park, the museum complex consists of the former park superintendent's residence, a Finnish log house and a 1930s tourist cabin. Permanent exhibits depict logging and lumbering industries, Virginia's fires of 1893 and 1900 and the interurban electric railway system. A new permanent exhibit tells the story of Olcott Park's Master Gardener Gunnar Peterson.
